The rear cover is also very subtly soiled and stained. There is minor chipping to the paper at the ends of the spine. The pages are browned. Garis was a very prolific children's author of the early 20th century.

Paperback. Mary and Wallace Stover Ilustrador. Thin quarto [28 cm] Stapled illustrated wraps. Fair only. The wraps are lightly rubbed and creased, and the rear wrap is mildly soiled and stained. There are three prominent crayon marks on the rear wrap. The fore edge of the front wrap has a couple of small closed tears, and there is a 3/4 inch long closed tear in the paper at the foot of the spine. There are several stains on the verso of the front wrap. The largest stain is 3 inches in diameter. The illustrations have been colored in with messy crayon, and a couple of the pages are creased. The pages are browned. Number 1027.
