Hardcover. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. John Pimlott Ilustrador. 1st Edition. Following on from "Orange-robed Boy" (1967) comes another really interesting children's book from this pair, set in Burma. Like the earlier book, this centers on an important time in the life of a high-spirited boy, while giving the story an authentic backdrop of Burmese life and culture. Adequately illustrated with pen and ink drawings and nice wrap-around color jacket art. This copy has been inscribed and signed by both authors: "To Alice & Don / Affectionately, Maryjane & [in a different hand] Patsy, July 1968". It appears that a couple of pages must have been partly unopened on the bottom edge, and have been opened just a little carelessly. There is minor fading of the stained top edge, otherwise a near fine copy in very good dust jacket indeed, clipped and re-priced by the publisher, slightly browned on spine panel and with slight wear to spine and extremities. There can't be many children's books set in Burma, so be sure not to miss this one!. Inscribed by Author(s).
