Its 17 chapters include information on the dales and fells, the Tees River, lead-mining, significant towns, places and geographical features. 188 pages including bibliography, index, 18 b/w photos, four maps -- two fold out. Green hard covers VG with spine with gilt titles sunned. Nealy inked name top FFEP plus "Sheffield 1948" lower corner, both FEPs browned, more heavily at back. Text block otherwise excellent.

Beautifully illustrated dust jacket, not price clipped, has pieces missing from both the upper and lower edges of the front section and tears along the upper edge of the rear section. Green boards underneath are in very good condition except for slight rubbing to the top and base of the spine. End-papers have rectangular stains and pages are lightly tanned but clean throughout. Two fold-out maps and 17 B&W photographs.
