Top edge gilt; other edges deckled. In a black cloth-effect paper covered slipcase, with a decorative blue and black paper label on the spine. The book is in very good condition. The spine is faded, and the spine ends are lightly rubbed. The slipcase is in very good condition, with the underlying boards very sporadically exposed along the edges, and minor chipping to the spine label. illustrated by John Held Jr. This edition of The Travels of Baron Munchausen consists of fifteen hundred copies printed for the members of The Members of the Limited Editions. It is designed by William A. Kittredge and printed under his supervision at The Lakeside Press, R. R. Donnelley & Sons Co., in Chicago. This is copy number 423.
