This classic sci-fi story is made all the more thrilling through the incredible imagination of its illustrator, Harold Jones. Jones was a renowned children s book illustrator, having studied illustration at Goldsmiths College under Arthur Rackham s former teacher Edmund Sullivan, at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, and finally at the Royal College of Art. Publisher s cloth covered boards, tail of spine very slightly bumped, some offsetting to endpapers and previous owner s pictorial stamp to front free-endpaper. In lovely bright condition. Dust jacket is unclipped, head of spine is a little rubbed with a couple of very small tears.A 4mm Closed tear tp the upper corner of the front wrapper. Now in a protective Mylar sleeve (removable). The wrapper s colours are vivid and bright, and it is also in very good condition. An excellent copy of this uncommon otherworldly adventure.
