Translated from the original French by Frederic Shoberl.In this volume François-René de Chateaubriand describes his 1806 and 1807 travels in Jerusalem, Jaffa and Egypt.With a lengthy appendix and index to the rear, and with one advertisement leaf to the rear. In a full calf binding, with gilt detailing to back strip. Joints starting, with boards tenderly held. Rear board held by one cord only. Internally, firmly bound. Pages a touch age toned to perimeters, but otherwise clean and bright, with light handling marks to first few leaves. Ink crossing out of title to leaf B. Good. book.
