The binding is strong with all pages firmly attached. The pages are clean with no soiling or tears. There are a couple of pages that have some underlining and parenthesis. The copyright page shows 1961. This is definitely Not a former library book. The dust jacket 99% intact with some light chipping on the top of the spine and a few crease marks along the edges. We always ship in a sturdy cardboard box!.

First edition, hardcover in red cloth, has a lean to the binding, a heavy bump to the head of the spine with much lighter wear to the tail and the cover corners, age toning to the endsheets, and foxing to the edges of the text block. Overall, a solid, Near Very Good copy in a Good only dust jacket, which has chips and short tears to the spine ends and corners with the chip at the head of the spine obscuring most of the title, sunning to the spine, wear with short tears to the edges, and rubbing with faint spots to the covers. The jacket is wrapped in Mylar.
