According to Robert F. Barskey's book "Noam Chomsky - a life of dissent" (quoted at MIT Cognet), "Dr. Chomsky continued to pursue his research in the field of medieval Hebrew language and went on to become, according to a 22 July 1977 New York Times obituary, 'one of the world's foremost Hebrew grammarians.' He was the author of a seminal study called Hebrew, the Eternal Language (1957), as well as numerous other works, including Hebrew, the Story of a Living Language (1947; which was the basis of Hebrew, the Eternal Language), How to Teach Hebrew in the Elementary Grades (1946), and Teaching and Learning (1959)."
