Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. 1st Edition. First edition exlib hardcover in red paper covered boards with black titles and line drawing of a man on a rearing horse with a lariat in this hand. Spine ends bumped, tips still sharp. Tape marks on red boards from formerly fixed dj. 159 pp text tight and bright without names or tears but an occasional soil spot or fingerprint. Un-clipped original color illustrated dust jacket shows a cowboy on a blue-gray or grulla horse jumping into the air as three more guys on horses come up over the rim to chase him. Book displays well on the shelf with lightly soiled, lightly sunned, light yellow background, turquoise type (title, author, publisher) and a red outline drawing of a cowboy on a rearing horse with a coiled lariat in one hand. Light yellow background rear dj panel has a micro closed tear at foot of rear dj panel plus one suggestion for further Western adventure reading. Lefty Pope's visit to Cottonwood was a fateful one, and his action when he rescued Lucky Jack from a cell in the burning Marshall's office sparked off a startling chain of events. The Gila River Kid and his gang stood large in the picture, as did the shadowy Pinkerton agent, John H. Powers. But a back-shooting ambush, a bank hold-up and a gunsmoke showdown had to take place before Lefty knew what the future held for him.
