Hardcover. Condición: Good+. First Edition. 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 300 pages; HC in publisher's brown cloth over boards with title lettering in gilt to spine and ruling in blind to boards. A sound, decent copy. Boards rubbed at edges with cloth chipped from spines above the level of the page block; board showing through cloth at corners. Cloth weak in the hinge gutters with a partial split starting top front hinge. Scattered light to moderate soiling and toning. Chip from the lower corner of page 47/48 has result of loss of first letter or two from several lines of text. G+.

Cloth over boards is shelf won with heaviest wear at corners and extremities of spine. Spine slightly faded but gilt lettering and design is still visible. Collection of battlefront correspondence by Captain Samuel Wheelock Fiske (1828-1864) of the 14th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry under the pseudonym Dunn Browne. Provides detailed account of two years in northern Virginia, 1862-1864. Ex-Library; 7.25" tall; 399 pages.
