During its construction 12,000 allied POWs died mainly of disease, sickness, malnutrition and exhaustion and were buried along the railway. The Asian laborers had a death rate between 80,000 and 100,000. 6th Edition. Tall pictorial softcover, staple binding, 40 pp., illustrated with maps and photos as well as sketches drawn by the prisoners. Mild wear, unmarked, tight binding.
