Hard cover dust wrapper 190pp b&w plates. Near fine. Bill Griffiths lost both hands and eyes when he was a prisoner of the Japanese in Java in 1942. The first 50 pages of this book tells of his experiences as a POW and the remainder deals with his life afterwards as he strove to overcome his handicap. His story is one of courage, told with no bitterness and a goodly dose of humour. The brief postscript describes his return to Java in 1988.
