Soft Cover. Condición: New. Collector Bookstore Quick Notes: Covers Colt Automatic Pistols, from their inception onward. Sixty years of research, engineering and production development have produced so many forms and designs in many calibers it is impossible to collect a complete history without "blind" spots or gaps. Via detailed text and photos, the author seeks to help fill in those gaps. Publishers Full Description: Enlarged & Revised Edition. The handguns produced by Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company have been the object of serious historical research for many years. The rich historical tradition and great commercial popularity of Colt handguns has made the Colt an integral part of the subject matter comprising the history of mechanical arts in the United States. Direct study of fine collections of Colt arms throughout the country form the basis of this book. Sixty years of research, engineering and production development have produced so many forms and designs in many calibers it is impossible to collect a complete history without "blind" spots or gaps, despite the availability of good specimen collections and fine reference materials. For the author, every new fact brought the realization of other facts still to be learned _ a never ending process. The text of this book, therefore, contains two types of information, the "Factual" and the "Speculative." Soft cover, 6" x 9" format, 354 pages. Illustrated. Index.

1st. 281 ages, Illustrated throughout in b/w from photographs and line drawings. Publishers dark red cloth titled in silver in DJ., DJ the spine evenly faded some chipping to edges. Ownership blind stamp of Jim Stonley, also his stamp to the front-end paper. There are numerous loose pen and ink notes relating to the guns and some related pages cut from magazines etc. The book itself has numerous marginal notes, and neatly tipped in paper notes alongside the relevant pages, the handwriting is quite legible. The notes often relate to references in various publications, and I would say compiled by someone with a good knowledge on the guns, more research is needed.
