Subscriber's edition. hardback, five volumes complete with an Index making six in total, published for subscribers between 1900 and 1912 in a uniform binding of red cloth lettered and blocked gilt, top edges gilt, , the bindings are in poor condition with the backstrip of volume four being broken in two (both parts are present and could be laid down to a new casing, the lower joint of volume five is split, rubbed at head and tails, boards are all in a well preserved state. Internally whilst hinges are cracked the stitching remains tight and the text clean and unmarked, b&w plates. A large heavy set priced for re-casing or rebinding, price to include UK postage but a request for additional postage will be made if ordered from outside the UK.

Further volumes were planned for Norfolk but apparently these two were the only ones that were published. Volume 1 covers natural history including geology and paleontology, and early human history to the Anglo-Saxons; Vol. 2 continues to the medieval period. Various authors credited. HB. Two handsome folio volumes in the original red cloth, lettered with gilt titles and decorations (St George and the dragon) to spines and with gilt coats of arms to front cover. Top page edges gilt. Vol. 1: xx, 351pp .With 48 illustrations in plates and the text (engravings and b&w photos) including a tissue-guarded frontispiece and one coloured plate; and 6 maps (folding, coloured). Vol.2.: xix, 563pp. With 21 illustrations in plates and text , including colour plate frontispiece and 2 coloured plates of medieval wall paintings in Norwich cathedral; and 2 maps. This set has the armorial bookplate of Herbert Cozens-Hardy inside the front covers. A Very Good set. Clean covers with some wear to corners in both vols; Vol. 1 has cloth fading and some rubbing to spine, though gilt generally bright in both. Pages are well-bound in both. Vol. 1 has heavy foxing to endpapers and some foxing to margins and backs of plates in early pages; closed fore-edges foxed in both vols; occasional marginal spots, otherwise a generally clean set.

This particular series was originally meant to be made up of four volumes, before being expanded upon in later years with a change of editors and publishers.Volume I (1904) includes a natural history of Warwickshire, followed by essays such as 'Romano-British Remains' and 'Text of the Warwickshire Domesday'. With one colour plate, three black-and-white plates, one double-paged map, one full-page map, six map illustrations, and forty-three in-text illustrations.Volume II (1965 reprint) includes 'Ecclesiastical History' 'Religious Houses', 'Social and Economic History, 'Industries', and 'Schools'.
