Hardcover. Condición: Fair. Charles Robinson Ilustrador. small 4to; 20 x 26.5 cms); 33 pages; 4 full-page colour plates, plus black & white illustrations in the text, and colour illustration on inside front cover; hardback: colour illustrated boards, with red cloth spine; covers have a cut-out, with two battleship guns firing through to destroy a ship on the title-page; covers worn, the edge of the cut out has some damage, contents rather shaky and joint split at the back, the ownership panel on inside front cover has been filled in. A fair copy only of this scarce title. Although not credited, Charles Robinson is identified as the illustrator by an advert on the back of the book for another, similar, title in the series (Soldiers of the King, a Book about Our Army for Little Folk). The present title describes and illustrates the work of the Royal Navy. There is no publication date, either, but this is a shortened version of "Rule Britannia" which appears to have been published around 1915, so this is later in the First World War, say, 1916-17.

Hardcover. Condición: Fair. Charles Robinson Ilustrador. small 4to (20 x 26.5 cms); 84 pages; with 3 double-page colour plates, 10 full-page colour plates, 16 plain plates, and 19 line illustrations in the text, plus frontispiece and title-page in red and black; hardback: colour illustrated upper board, grey lower board, with blue cloth spine; covers worn, especially on corners, lower board stained, inner joints weak - both endpapers spilit, revealing webbing, which is partially detached from spine, but covers still attached, a little separation within the text block, but all holding, foxing to first and last pages and endpapers, some grubby marks within the contents, and corner missing from bottom of front endpaper, otherwise good. Ink inscription on front paste-down, dated 24th April, 1915. Although there is no mention of the author's name, the earlier illustrations are signed Charles Robinson, as is the cover illustration. I believe the publication date to be 1911. A collection of short pieces on a wide variety of topics taken from life.
