("The second edition, 1886 of five thousand copies is exhausted, and as there is still requests for the book, I have decided to republish it."). The author covers arbitration of strikes, justice in Chicago, Slave girls of Chicago (factory workers), the eight-hour movement in the first part of this book. The third edition begins on page 153 and deals with arrests, lock -ups, county jails, punishment, crime-producing conditions, imprisoning women, grand juries, prison labor and much more. VERY GOOD HARDCOVER. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
