4pp., 12mo, printed in blue and gold on card bifolium. Aged and with central horizontal fold, with glue from previous mount adhering to reverse of second leaf. Jellicoe's signature, in pencil at the head of the first page, reads 'Jellicoe | AF'. The menu is made out in manuscript to 'Mr John Morland'. Nine champagnes are listed, with their vintages, with eleven suitably-grand courses. 'Cigarettes Ed. Laurens | Les spécialités sont expliquées par le Docteur de Pomiane. | Les vins sont commentés par le Docteur Ramain.' The 'Court Circular' in The Times of 1 and 15 January 1935 reported on the trip to Switzerland of Jellicoe and his wife, and their return.

The pedigree is written out by Crisp on one side of a 37 x 95 cm piece of paper, folded twice into a 37 x 23.5 cm packet, printed on the front of which is: 'Visitation of England and Wales. | DRAFT PEDIGREE. | Please return to Frederick Arthur Crisp, F.S.A., "Grove Park Press," 270 Walworth Road, London, S.E.' The same address is embossed at the head. In good condition, on lightly-aged paper. In top right hand corner of cover is a manuscript label with 'JELLICOE.' underlined in red. The pedigree, descending from 'Capt. John Hume Jellicoe of Hyde, Isle of Wight, Commodore of the Royal Mail Company's Fleet', has at its centre the entry for the Admiral, with his achievements described over nine lines.

See his entry in the Oxford DNB. On 14.5 x 6 cm rectangle of air mail paper, cut from the head of a letter, on which Jellicoe's note is clearly a comment. In good condition, lightly aged, folded once. Typed at foot of slip: 'Thomas Butler - Meadow Cottage, Bank Road, Dawly, Salop.' Above this, towards the right, Jellicoe writes in a close hand: 'Col Crosfield / This is a sad case, & seems "attributable". Can the case be taken up by Mr Webb. / Please have letter acknowledged / J.' A manuscript note in a modern hand, on a file card, dates the note to around 1928, and states that the case was 'Illness attributable to incidents during War Service'. See image.

3pp, 12mo. Bifolium. In good condition, lightly aged, with a few light stains from mount. Folded once. Having seen the Times announcement of the birth of Cecil's son the previous Saturday, Jellicoe sends his 'Most hearty congratulations' on the birth of Cecil's son, and is 'so delighted that all is going so satisfactorily & that you can come to see us on the 14th. [.] My wife will be filled with jealousy, I feel sure.' He will send him 'further details as to joining' as soon as he can 'ascertain from the C in C [Sir Assheton Curzon-Howe (1850-1911), to whom Jellicoe had been appointed second-in-command the previous August] his proposed time of arrival at Weymouth. He is at present attending a conference in London [?]'. He ends his 'best wishes for a very speedy recovery for Lady Adelaide', i.e. Colville's wife, born Lady Adelaide Jane Meade. In a postscript he reports: 'I hear rumours of a command for you. If they are correct please accept my very heartiest congratulations'. The child was Colville's second son, the future Commander Sir Richard Colville (1907-1975).

With a typed letter from a secretary (dated 20th August, 1919) to Minami using "Naval Mission to India and the Dominions. 1919-1920" (H.M.S. New Zealand, at Wellington) letterhead and an envelope (with initials"NZ"), a part of a large envelope for sending the photographs, and clipped newspaper articles about John Jellicoe. [36-430543]. Contains [xvi] 517 printed pages of text with a frontispiece, a coloured plate, 9 monochrome plates on 7, 9 large folding charts coloured in outline and 4 folding diagrams in pocket at end. Tanning to the edges of the end papers. Very Good condition book in Good condition dust wrapper with small stains to the right edge of the front cover, small chips and related tears to the corners and spine ends, priced 31/6. SIGNED by the author to the front free end paper 'To Lieutenant Stephen King-Hall RN, With best wishes from the author, Jellicoe, 21st February 1919'. Stephen King-Hall was educated at Lausanne in Switzerland and at the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth. He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918, with the Grand Fleet, serving on HMS Southampton and 11th Submarine Flotilla. He gained the rank of Commander in the service of the Royal Navy in 1928, before resigning in 1929.
