Paperback. Condición: Fine. First Edition. THE DUTCH SCHULTZ STORY Ted Addy. Tower Books, New York 1968 First Edition 176pp Illustrated Paperback. This copy is in FINE condition in illustrated card covers as issued. Dutch Schultz (born Arthur Flegenheimer; August 6, 1902 - October 24, 1935) was a New York City-area Jewish American gangster of the 1920s and 1930s who made his fortune in organized crime-related activities such as bootlegging alcohol and the numbers racket. Weakened by two tax evasions trials led by prosecutor Thomas Dewey, Schultz's rackets were threatened by fellow mobster Lucky Luciano. In an effort to avert his conviction, Schultz asked The Commission for permission to kill Dewey, which they declined. Concerned that Schultz would act without their blessing, they ordered his assassination in 1935. Ref L3.

Softcover / Paperback. Condición: Very Good. 2nd edition. Paperback. In an age of murderous gangsters, the Dutchman shot his way to the top. It took the Mafia to bring him down. Murderer, bootlegger, racketeer and double-crosser, Dutch Schultz was universally hated. Even his contemporaries - Mad Dog Coll and Legs Diamond - tried to fit him for a cement overcoat. Vicious and unpredictable, the Dutchman was basically a loner. Backed by a small army of assassins, he shot his way to the top of the newly-formed crime syndicate. But he left a trail of corpses along the way and earned a brief funeral - compliments of Murder, Inc. Illus. 172pp. mass market p/back. From the library of true crime writer, Wilfred Gregg, with his personal b/plate. Lightly browned pp., colour faded sp., small price label to fr. cover, but no creasing to covers. Vg.
