Hardcover. Condición: Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. First Edition. First edition hardcover in burgundy cloth covered boards with gilt spine title. 127pp text is tight, bright, crisp and unmarked. Original photo illustrated dust jacket is unclipped, shows some foxing at upper edge of frt panel, and a couple short closed tears at head of rear panel. Widmer writes of the uses of the breed in flat racing, rodeo competition and for general ranch work, and he describes the methods of training which have proved most effective in developing and perfecting individual horses for these uses. In a tour and description of the King Ranch he explores the experimental breeding which has contributed so effectively to the improvement and establishment of the modern breed, and he pays tribute to 'King', the 'Man O'War' of the Quarter Horses and the future of the breed.
