1st Printing. Hardbound 8vo (9.25 inches tall) 174 pages. Photo endpapers. Description: Many black and white photo illustrations; color frontis. The foreword explains, ''With the adoption in 1950 of the Official Scoring System for North American Big Game Trophies, it became imperative that all major trophies in every category be remeasured and scored under the Official System. Unless this were done, there would be no way of determining the rank of the fine old trophies already on record and no means of comparing them with excellent new trophies being brought to light in the annual competitions. Further, it was equally imperative that after remeasuring the existing trophies, the result be published so that those interested might study the correlation between the major trophies as published in the 1939 edition, and the same as scored under the Official System.'' Scribner's 'A' indicates a first printing. BINDING/CONDITION: rust colored cloth with gilt vignette and spine text; Very Good condition; no dust jacket. ISBN: B0037U89GM.
