A handsome set bound in contemporary morocco, gilt inside dentelles, all edges gilt (some light foxing & offsetting). A later issue of Thomas Park's (1759-1834) edition with a new preface announcing the inclusion of Walpole's appendix (protected by copyright in 1806) and the prelims of Volumes I,II and V watermarked '1821' and '1822'. Park's edition of Walpole's Catalogue (1st Edn: 1758, 2 Vols.) was substantially enlarged and improved by his extensive antiquarian and bibliographic research and the inclusion of short specimens of the author's writings. Over three hundred Irish, Scottish and English royal and noble authors are noticed, including Anne Boleyn, Philip Chesterfield, Edward Clarendon, Queen Elizabeth, John Fortescue, Lady Jane Grey, Henry the Eighth, John Hervey, James the First, Simon Lovat, George Sackville, Charles Townshend, Horatio Walpole, &c.
