Paperback. 96p., 6x9 inches, poetry journal, paperback in pictorial wraps, Some general soiling. Circular staining to front cover. 102p., TLs enclosed, softbound in 9x6 inch glossy white wraps decorated with a sketched portrait of the doctor; a little edgeworn with mild general toning. A nice clean copy with, laid in, a typed letter signed (about sixty words) from Gareth Hill on Institute letterhead as a cover enclosed with this book and a request for a small money donation to deal with its cost. This particular exemplar went to Thomas Parkinson, a local celeb in his own right and one of the dozens of contributors. Wheelwright inspired great affection, not least for his ability to be blind to gender stereotypes.

Hardcover. xvii, 283p., a fine big coffeetable of a book with all the bells and whistles of modern fine press, including two glossy sheets placed at the endpapers fore and aft (to prevent adhesions? hardly; ask Mr Stout, who is hands-on in the production of his books.) The casebinding consists of 12.5x9.5 inch squareback boards papered with evocative greenish stuff titled and decorated in silverfoil, and enclosed in the dust jacket. Item is entirely sound, clean and unmarked.

A good to very good copy The preface here is "as it was published in the yeere, 1562," but there was an earlier edition in 1547 of these sermons. Cranmer wrote the third, fourth, and fifth, which deal with salvation, faith, and good works. The 1547 editions was very popular with church wardens who acquired copies for their churches. Queen Elizabeth added the second book in 1563. The sermons as published and repeated in churches for decades is said to have helped settle the matter of England's protestantism after Henry VIII's abjuration of Roman Catholicism and the separation from the Roman Catholic church between 1532 and 1534.
