Done less than a year after the Custer Fight. Both reports quite detailed, providing a good view of Indian situations as well as development of the frontier. Sheridan's report covers the reconnaissance of the Big Horn Mountains and the valleys of the Big Horn and the Yellowstone. Sheman's report includes his tour of inspection across the continent along the lines of the Northern Pacific Railroad. All maps bright, paper supple, loaded with detail--especially Montana--with an occasional light tear along crease. Spine re-backed. Rare.
