Hardcover. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good+. First Edition; First Printing. The book is F except for a gift inscription on the Half Title page. There is also a United States Naval Institute bookplate on the ffep. The jacket has some light edge and corner wear but is still quite attractive. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 301 pages; John Roach was one of the lesser known Gilded Age magnates. He developed the largest shipbuilding enterprise in the US during the post Civil War years. While this book's subtitle sounds as though this is one of at least two volumes, no other volumes were written. This book covers the rise of Roach's empire. The Naval Institute bookplate makes an interesting association.
