Several frayed dents to board edges. Spine is noticeably sunned. Book has a slight backward lean.

Blue coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Gilt to the top textblock edge. The title says it all, the American ship builder Donald McKay and his ships. This book is in TERRIBLE SHAPE. At some point in its previous existence it has come in contact with significant amount of moisture / water to the front fore edge (please see photographs) and water damage has effected the first inch, inch and a half of the pages, causing the paper had become somewhat brittle and friable. A previous owner has cut the affected edge to page 37. Some of the text, is a little difficult to read due to sticking of pages together. The cloth has retreated from the underlying board and there is fading, flecking, rubbing and other marks to the book panels.
