Hardcover. Condición: Near Fine in Dust Jacket. First British Edition. Octavo, original orange cloth titled in black on spine panel. 318 pp. Touch of sunning to spine panel, else a fine copy in nearly fine four-color pictorial dust jacket with neat internal tape mends at spine ends and corners. On close inspection, there is evidence of a price label removed from the spine panel, but the evidence of this is faint. Overall, a very attractive copy, with stunning dust wrapper artwork by Paul Stahr depicting a hooded wizard holding holding up a crystal ball against a rainbow background. Occult Thriller, in "333": a weird mystery tale of mistaken identity, a vast fortune, and a man with paranormal abilities who is, of course, a hashish eater. First published as a six-part serial in ARGOSY ALL-STORY WEEKLY, beginning 29 December 1928. "The Popular Library" was an imprint of John Hamilton who ceased business following the destruction of their offices in 1941 by German bombers.
