Postcard. Condición: Good +. Willoughby Sharp, Performing "New Society" at The Western Front on 3-24-1976 documented with a photograph by Taki Bluesinger. The performance is described as, ".the artist stoned on acid, naked and howling in a cage that had been specially constructed in the attic as a camera slowly dollied toward him across the rafters the slow zoom image relayed to the audience below." The performance was at the Western Front in Vancouver, BC. 3 7/8" x 6" postcard, black and white photograph, part of the 1977 Image Bank Postcard Show. Never mailed. Some wear to edges and corners otherwise very good condition.

Press release detailing the news that an 'international exhibition devoted to kinetic sculpture will take place at the "Museu Universitario de Ciencias y Arte", Mexico City, during July and August, 1968', curated by Kineticism Press Director Willoughby Sharp. The information sheet claims this to be the 'first major group exhibition devoted to Kineticism in Latin America, and the first group exhibition to concentrate on the environmental aspects of kinetic sculpture', featuring names such as Yaacov Agam, Dan Flavin, Hans Haacke, Julio Le Parc, Les Levine, David Medalla, Robert Morris, Jesus Raphael Soto, Takis and Jean Tinguely, among others. The sculptor Mathias Goeritz was Artistic Advisor of the Olympic Committee, who states: 'Artists today are increasingly interested in our total environmental situation. The works in this Exhibition are concrete proposals for a new kind of dynamically activated public space.'.
