Softcover. Condición: Very Good. Collectible June, 1950 issue of the iconic design magazine Interiors + Industrial Design. Published at the dawn of the Midcentury Modern movement. Notably, Contributing Editor and legendary Knoll Director of Design George Nelson was instrumental in introducing modernism to middle-class America by way of using Interiors as a mouthpiece. Interiors' list of several hundred advertisers in the back of each issue reads like a who's who of modernist designers - and of course the ads themselves were illustrated with many now collectible interior design examples. Special features in this issue include an 8-page photo-illustrated article on the newly opened Knoll Associates Lone Star Showroom in Dallas, with room after room reflecting the modernist style, and an 11-page illustrated article on car design. Arno Enrico Schuele cover art. Large format magazine. From the Table of Contents page: "Published for interior designers, architects. industrial designers, the interior decorating departments of retail stores, and for all concerned with interiors." 172 pp. 12" x 9". Tight, unmarked copy with tiny surface tear to spine panel. Photographs of or additional information about this item are available on request. All inquiries answered promptly.

Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good+. Nino Repetto, Henry Stalhut, Mario Carreño, Alvin Lustig (dust jacket) Ilustrador. Second edition, revised and enlarged. 4to. Pp. 96. Illustrated throughout with drawings, diagrams and cartoons. Black cloth, titles stamped in white on the cover and spine. In the Lustig illustrated dust jacket, price clipped. Edges mildly age toned. Jacket edges rubbed, spine ends chipped, one-inch closed tear near spine head, spine color a tad faded, light soiling. A compilation of popular articles from the magazine Interiors where Schroeder was editor. The charming Alvin Lustig jacket is a perfect complement for an interior design guide, given his history as typographer, architect and, indeed, interior designer.Elaine Lustig Cohen, Alvin's widow, included this title in her list of ten favorite Alvin Lustig designs, stating it exhibits "a playfulness and humor which is rarely mentioned in connection with his work." And dust-jacket authority Martin Salisbury, in a Paris Review article titled "Twelve Dust Jackets," included this design in that rarified field, noting "Alvin Lustig's distinctive hand-rendered lettering was a key pictorial feature of the early editions of this striking jacket design." Dust jacket now preserved in a removable clear archival sleeve. .
