Condición: Fair. 1831. No Edition Remarks. Unpaginated. No dust jacket. Full bound leather. Moderate tanning, with light foxing and marking to pages. Some rub-marking and tanning to pastedowns and endpapers with cracking to front hinge. Boards have moderate shelf wear, with rubbing and marking. Light bumping to corners and crushing to spine ends. Binding remains firm with heavy sunning and water marks.

Leather_bound. Condición: Fair. Philadelphia: Collins and Hannay, 1832. 9 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches: pp. 531, 121. Full calf binding. Note condition: Boards scratched and worn with front corner of board chipped off, other corners worn and chafed. Bottom two inches of outer spine chipped off and spine worn and scuffed. Spine title dulled. Binding is strong. Interior heavily foxed. Name stamp of previous owner on inside board and also name of another owner in ink along with some calligraphic printing of "Book", and the same owner boldly inked his name on the front edge. Cornelis Schrevel [1608-1661] was a physician and scholar and head of the college faculty at Leiden University. His Latin-Greek lexicon was very popular and went through many editions and translations into the 19th century.

(index), 4 ff. muets. Recueil de locutions trilingue (latin - grec - flamand) accompagnées d'un commentaire en latin. Cornelius Schrevelius (1615-1664) était un grammarien, installé à Leyde, auteur d'un dictionnaire latin grec réimprimé à de nombreuses reprises (cf, Bnf et Brunet). On remarquera l'excellent état de conservation de l'ouvrage. 2 ex-libris l'un manuscrit daté de 1662, l'autre du XXe siècle.

Cornelis Schrevel (bapt. 13 April 1608 1664) was a Dutch physician and scholar, was born in Haarlem and he studied medicine at Leiden University and replaced his father Theodorus Schrevelius as head of the college faculty at Leiden in 1642. He published a Latin-Greek lexicon and edited many classical authors, including an edition of Curtius Rufus owned by Thomas Jefferson. He died in Leiden. The Lexicon ran to scores of editions in half-a-dozen languages, to the early nineteenth century; an expansion of 1663 was edited by Joseph Hill.
