1st edition dust jacket Nice Copy octavo 271pp., frontis., b/w plates, British, but born & partly educated in Cairo, he spoke Arabic & French like his mother tongue & was fluent in Greek and Italian. During WW2 he operated in Cairo in the Field Security Service & was responsible for the capture of Hans Eppler, the secret agent planted by Rommel. Very nice copy in like price-clipped dust jacket. Scarce, especially in this condition.
