Soft cover. Condición: Good. 1st Edition. Softcover, with sewn binding and covers recapitulating the dustcover issued with the hardcover binding (including the front and rear flaps, with the blurbs and price). This is very likely a softcover advance review copy before the hardcover issue (as was the pattern for several other books published by Frederick A. Stokes Co.). In addition to same date (1931) on the title and copyright pages, there is an ink stamp on the title page: "PUB'N DATE SEP 17 1931". About good (front cover starting; minor chipping, edges of covers; paper moderately toned). As of the time of this listing, this is the most affordable first edition copy with the scarce dustcover (although not removable). 8x 5 5/8 inches, 332 pp. "Thomas Harbo Rynning (February 17, 1866 June 18, 1941) was an officer in the United States Army who served with Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders during the Spanish American War. He was also the captain of the Arizona Rangers, warden of Yuma Territorial Prison, and a United States Marshal in San Diego, California." (K086).

Soft cover. Condición: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 332 pp. A near fine, tight, unmarked rare soft cover copy. With the dust jacket issued on the hardcover binding and including the front and rear flaps. This is a soft cover advance review copy before the hardcover was issued. It is stamped on the title page with PUB'N DATE SEP 17 1931. Housed in a beautiful custom made clam shell slip case as photographed. Additionally, with this advance copy comes an original United States Marshal document from San Diego, CA. signed by Thomas H. Rynning. The subject of this book Thomas Rynning (1866-1941) was one of Roosevelt's Rough Riders, Captain of the Arizona Rangers, Warden of the Arizona penitentiary at Yuma, Constructor of the Florence, Arizona prison and always a frontier lawman. An excellent read about a real western lawman, his life and times and the outlaws he captured and pursued. Six-Guns #1924, Herd #1983. We consider this advance copy in the custom clam shell case to be rare!. Signed by Author(s).

First edition. First edition. 8vo. Cloth, xvii [3], 332 pp., foreword. Foreword by Rupert Hughes. Six Guns 1924 says, "Scarce." "This book deals with many of the Arizona outlaws Rynning pursued while serving as an Arizona Ranger." Rynning was one of the most colorful and exciting characters of the American West. He was a cowboy, and Indian fighter, an officer in the Roosevelt Rough Riders, and penitentiary warden, as well as an Arizona Ranger. Former owner's bookplate removed from front fly leaf, else a near-fine copy in the elusive dust jacket which has light wear to the head of spine and extremities, with the rare wrap-a-round promotional band with a promotional blurb by Rupert Hughes. Much "Rough Rider" content and the nicest copy we've seen of this book in years.
