Three pamphlets all clean and bright, bound in light tan half calf over cloth backed boards with marbled endpapers. John Ramsay (1814 1892) was a Scottish Liberal Party politician. He took a great interest in, and played played a major role, in the devolopment of education in Scotland. In 1864 he was a member of the Royal Commission on Education in Scotland, being also an unpaid member of Board of Education for Scotland. He was a Fellow or member of several learned societies.
