Pax was issued intermittently in 18 issues between 1956 and 1962, with three later ones in 1985. This one is a wonderful satire by Ad Reinhardt, who is paired up with other artists and reconfigures or comments on their statements on art. Samples: Gottlieb and Rothko, "There is no such thing as a good painting about nothing." Reinhardt, "There is no such thing as a good painting about something." Baziotes and Blesh, "I looked at Picasso until I could smell his armpits." Reinhardt, "Study the old masters. Look at nature. Watch out for armpits." A single sheet of newsprint printed one side and folded in quarters. 28 x 43 cm open as shown. Very fragile. **Free domestic or international shipping with direct order.
