Cloth. Condición: Very Good. None Ilustrador. First edition. The first edition of this short collection of poetry by Siegfried Sassoon using his pseudonym. First edition of Poems by Pinchbeck Lyre, in the original publisher's cloth binding.A lovely collection of poetry by the English war poet, Siegfried Sassoon, using his pseudonym.Sassoon was one of the leading war poets of the First World War, and was also recognised for being a focal point for dissent within the armed forces after making a lone protest against the continuation of the war in his 'Soldier's Declaration' of 1917. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, very smart. There is light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The boards are slightly marked. First edition. Publisher's black cloth lettered in green, in the original glassine wrapper. A near fine copy, one small scratch to upper cover, in a very good glassine with a few short closed tears and creases. Sassoon's own copy of a pseudonymously published book of poems, so published for being a parody of Humbert Wolfe.
