A powerful memoir that draws on her family's history of slave ownership using slave inventories, Ku Klux Klan records and personal experience with the family's Black domestics. This copy was owned by Roderick Bissell Jones, president of the Beardsley and Memorial Library, and a long-serving officer with the Winsted Historical Society (Connecticut). Dust jacket now preserved in a clear, removable archival sleeve.
