Tthere is a tear through the middle of the fold. The fold is separated at least half way. There are a couple of small tears on the edges. The music is clean and complete.

Ted Koehler was an American lyricist, born in Washington, DC. He started his musical life as a theatre pianist for silent films. He moved on to write for vaudeville shows and Broadway, and also produced nightclub shows. His most famous collaboration was with the composer Harold Arlen, with whom he wrote many famous songs from the 1920s through the 1940s. The two wrote for Broadway, for productions at the Cotton Club, and for Hollywood films. This song was noteably covered by Ella Fitzgerald. Scarce.

wraps. Quarto (8-1/2" x 11") in illustrated wraps; 4 pages. Vintage sheet music with words by Ted Koehler and music by Harold Arlen. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the Arlen on the front cover: "For Bob/My always smilin' friend/deep affection/Harold." In addition to this classic, which was featured in a film with the same name, Arlen and Koehler combined to write "Let's Fall in Love" and "Get Happy." Arlen is perhaps best known as the composer of the music for THE WIZARD OF OZ film, including the song "Over the Rainbow," voted the 20th century's No. 1 song by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Skim mark and small tear on front cover not affecting the inscription. Small tape marks on front cover and a horizontal strip of loss of music on the rear cover. Still Very Good and attractive.
