Ephemera. Ten press releases, all mimeographed on 8.5x11 inch sheets; length ranging from a single sheet to six pages. Year penciled in lower right corners, minor uneven toning, otherwise very good. Includes two pieces with the byline of Kalpaschnikoff, the Chairman of the Committee: "Mud of Russia's plains will swallow Nazis, Der Fuhrer's blitzkrieg doomed to failure as Slavs outwit Hitler, says former Colonel," and "Russians can block German domination while Allies consolidate armed forces, declares former officer and diplomat." Other unsigned releases have the following titles: "US intervention necessary to save Europe, say Slavs," "American intervention in Europe is only salvation for Europe, declares Slavonic Committee," "Slavs facing future with confidence despite war pain, says US professor," "Slavonic democracy in Europe hailed as world peace factor," "Slav federation in Europe, based on American pattern, wins support of US group," and "American Slavs send wishes for victory to Russia's armed forces: Slavonic Committee for Democracy reaffirms opposition to Communism as alien to Russian character and soil," "Movement to unite Slavs in USA in common bond of American ideals is launched by Slavonic Committee," and "American Slavs pledge wholehearted support to President Roosevelt." Andrew Kalpaschnikoff, a former officer and diplomat for imperial Russia, organized the Committee to oppose both fascism and communism. He had previously published a memoir, "A Prisoner Of Trotsky's," about his experience after the October Revolution.
