Hardcover. Condición: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. The Animals of New Zealand, An Account of the Colony's Air-Breathing Vertebrates was written by Captain F. W. Hutton and James Drummond. The book was published by Whitcombe and Tombs Limited in 1904 and appears to be a First Edition though it's not specifically stated as such. It's not an ex-library but is only in good condition and has no dust jacket. The binding is brittle, and it looks as if a previous owner may have done some gluing of the spine, and there's the name of a previous owner written in ink at the top of the front loose end page, then dated March 4th, 1905. It is 6" by 8 7/8" and has 381 glossy pages with an Index of Maori Names, an Index of Common Names, a section of Scientific Divisions, a Table of Contents, black-and-white illustrations and photographs throughout, and a couple laid in newspaper articles from the 1930's by a previous owner. This had to have been quite a nice book when it was first published . . . and is still a wealth of information with nice, older black-and-white illustrations. Thank you!.
