Hardcover. First / First "A" on copyright page. Grey cloth with white (age-toned to tan) color-illustrated dustjacket. Illustrated endpapers. 78 pp., Eight color plates by grant Wood, who may have inscribed the book on the half-title to an individual in very neat script which does not exactly match online signatures. A significant book featuring the illustrations of the famed artist and lithographer Grant Wood, who has inscribed the book on the half-title to an individual in very neat script which does not exactly match online signatures found. However, all online examples located seem to be illustrate his signature at the base of lithographs, which would be completed in a different setting than signing and inscribing a single volume or a group of volumes. There are distinct similarities, but also differences. No reason to doubt this signature, but cannot guarantee it. A very nice copy of this title notwithstanding this question! VG+/Good+ dustjacket with slight chipping to top edge near right side and splitting without loss to the lower front hinge area.

Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. 1st Edition. Exceptional painter Grant Wood illustrations place this book at the heart of American culture. This is a true-first edition, which is indicated by the date, which is the same on both the title page and the copyright page, where a Scribner upper case-"A" also appears. This Very Good condition book looks much better than its score indicates. I scored it down because of some water damage at the top of the back cover. Internally, the book is Very Good with some minor staining near the stitching on a couple pages--but not at all on any of Grant's images or Horn's text. The Good+ dust jacket flaps are complete and the original $2.00 price is intact; however, it is missing a good part of the back strip and a large chip at the right-top corner of the cover.
