Condición: Fair. 1890. No Edition Noted. 630 pages. No dust jacket. Brown cloth. Volume I. Moderate tanning to pages with slight dog-eared pages throughout and visible tanning to text block edges. Both hinges are cracked with exposed netting and cracks to guttering with exposed netting. Binding is loose. Boards have visible rubbing and moderate bumping to corners. Heavy crushing to spine ends and fraying to cloth at corners and spine ends. Visible tears and bleach spotting to spine.

Page edges browned, scuffed and a bit marked, upper and fore-edges neatly cut. Some marking to endpapers, inscription on front free endpaper. Some lines in margins and the odd note. Condition: each volume has various previous owners' inscriptions in ink on the front end-papes (one dated 1808 and another 1855) with an ex-libris plate by the lower corner of the front paste-down. Vol I has tape at the front eps spine; Vol II has tape at the spine of front eps, at the spine of the following two pages, and at the spine of the rear eps; Vol III has tape at the spine of the front and rear eps; two pages of newspaper cuttings laid down on the two following (otherwise blank) pages. Some foxing. Some underlining and marginal notes but generally the books are clean. All bound in contemporary full leather with spine titles. TAPE is attached to each side of the spine on each volume. The spine of Vol I is split at the centre but holding, the spine of Vol II is cracked. The boards themselves are in Good condition. Size: 8vo.
