Hardcover. Condición: Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fine. 1st Edition. [141] pp. 10" x 7 3/4" Norman Hartnell Evans Brothers 1955 w/ letter signed by Norman Hartnell in heart-print cellophane envelope. Sir Norman Bishop Hartnell KCVO (12 June 1901- 8 June 1979) was a leading British fashion designer, best known for his work for the ladies of the royal family. Hartnell gained the Royal Warrant as Dressmaker to Queen Elizabeth (later the Queen Mother) in 1940, and Royal Warrant as Dressmaker to Queen Elizabeth II in 1957. Princess Beatrice also wore a dress designed for Queen Elizabeth II by Hartnell for her wedding in 2020. The career of Norman Hartnell, Dressmaker by Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, has spanned the world of fashion for the past thirty years. Here is the career of England's most famous couturier in all its crowded detail - the people he has met, the work he has done, the humour and the sadness, the early failures and the success. Hartnell takes the reader behind the scenes of many royal occasions and gives for the first time his story of dressmaking for royalty. Signed by Author(s).
