The book collects poems by 11 contemporary poets, viz., John Buchan, Violet Jacob, Neil Munro, Will Ogilvie, TS Cairncross, CM Grieve, Joseph Lee, John Ferguson, AG Grieve, Donald A Mackenzie and Roderick Watson Kerr. Intermittently paginated (!) but around 140 pages. Bound grey paper-covered boards with black lettering and a blue cloth spine and gold lettering. The pages are uncut. The extremities are rubbed and the top corners bumped. The boards have patchy fading. Bright internally.

Bound in grey paper-covered boards with black lettering and a blue cloth spine and gold lettering. The pages are uncut. The extremities are rubbed and the top corners bumped. The boards are lightly stained. Bright internally.

Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. VG- first edition of what later became known as the first series of this anthology of Scots poetry. Light grey paper-covered boards with black lettering and thistle device. Blue cloth spine with gold lettering. Outer and lower edges untrimmed. Corners bumped and rubbed and there is a small damp stain on the rear near the foot of the spine. The spine is rubbed at the ends with some wear at the head and the rear hinge has split a little at the top. Internally bright and clean with a name on the front fly-leaf.

The First Series dustwrapper is good with minor chipping to the spine (and with an earlier bookseller's listing of the books pasted to the front inner flap.) The Second Series dustwrapper is fair with some tearing and largeish pieces missing from the spine ends. First Series pp.130 + 2pp publisher's adverts. Second Series pp.142 + 2pp publisher's adverts. The Second Series volume is partly unopened. The First Series saw the first appearance in print of the editor C.M. Grieve (later Hugh MacDiarmid). Other contributors include Neil Munro, Violet Jacob, John Buchan, Will Ogilvie etc. Both volumes are without ownership inscription and with very little foxing. Not common in dustwrapper.
