Hardcover. Condición: Fair. First Edition. 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 270 pages; Bound in original light, thatched blue cloth with title lettering in darker blue to cover and spine. Boards rubbed at edges with shallow fray at spine ends and boards peeking through fray at corner tips. Cloth fading at spine and to a thin swath along the edges of the upper board. A split to the inner hinge at front appears to have been repaired by a prior bookseller with placement of archival linen mending tape in the joing between the half-title and pastedown and half-title and title pages. Front free endpage appears to be missing. Front and rear most few leaves foxed; light scattered soiling to pages from repeated readings. Front number of signatures jutting slightly from the front edge of the boards. Glue residue to rear pastedown suggests jacket glue down consisten with a rental library copy. Shabby but complete in the text. Serviceable filler copy of this scarce Grierson mystery. Fair to good only.
