Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. Thomas Rowlandson Ilustrador. 1st Edition. Green cloth on board with decorative spine and gilt lettering. The outer edges of the front and back boards are sun faded as is this spine.Other than the faults described the cover is tight clean and solid. Front edge hand cut top and bottom edge gilt the edges are a little dusty. Internally clean and tidy throughout with 24 bright and colourful full page plates by Rowlandson, all checked and complete. This is a lovely example of a British classic.

The 254-page text is in very good, tight, clean condition. Very light age-browning of the blank end papers. No inscriptions. Vellum-backed boards binding, with original printed title label mounted on spine, is in good+, tight condition, with all inner and outer hinges sound. Just a couple of minor marks. Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Illustrated Edition. SECOND EDITION, a re-issue of the 1817 edition. 8vo (9.9 x 6.6 inches). Illustrated with 24 fine hand-coloured, full page, aquatint plates, the colouring still strong and bright, by Thomas Rowlandson. The plates are generally on smaller leaves but all are complete with image and printed lettering in the margins. Some minor spots of foxing to a few leaves but generally clean and bright in the scarce original publisher's red/brown cloth binding, with gilt lettering and decoration on spine. Decorative blind stamped panels on boards. Original yellow coated endpapers. Previous owners bookplate to front paste down endpaper and ink name to front free endpaper. Some rubbing to top and tail of spines and fore-edges, and the inner hinges cracked but holding firm. Some loss to the very bottom of the spine but generally a very good example.
