Grosset & Dunlap, NY, 1933, early printing, 241 pages plus 4 pages of adverts at back, illustrated with b&w glossy frontispiece and brown illustrated endpapers - both by Pelagie Doane, 5"x 7.5", hardcover, blue cloth with black titles and decorations, top page edges tinted red, corners very faintly worn, spine ends very mildly bumped and worn, very good- dust jacket illustrated by Ruth King is very mildly scuffed and soiled, jacket shows minor wear to corners and spine ends with a very few short tears, dust jacket protected in a new plastic cover, former owner's brief ink inscription on front free endpaper, frontis and title page show some foxing around edges, otherwise contents clean and tight, book very good (VG/VG-) 3943 [Sss0608EC].

It lists to this title on front flap, rear title has eleven Judy Bolton titles and the copyright page lists to Dragon of the Hills, all of which are the points of the first edition.

A FIRST EDITION, First Printing (lists to prior book & names self in front matter, to self on front DJ flap) from 1938, this hardcover12mo has dark blue cloth-covered boards with stamped black design & lettering to front & spine. Condition is VG- (minus): a tad of fading & rubbing to extremities, frayed to underlying boards at lower-outer corners. Else, very clean, binding tight & square, both hinges intact. Pages lightly tanned, heavier around edges, but unmarked save for former owner's name & address in pencil in rear (we never erase these long-ago readers' names!). Modest pushing to both ends of spine. The unclipped DJ is Good- (minus), unclosed teat to lower spine-front dover intersection, light soil, chipping & rubbing to extremities, but front & spine images clear & colorful & intact; nicely protected in new clear mylar cover Free!
