Dargestellt ist das Gebiet zwischen Zerbst und Peitz im Norden, Zittau und Prag im Osten, Eger (Cheb) und Coburg im Süden und Meiningen und Eisenach im Westen. Im Zentrum Altenburg, Rochlitz und Chemnitz. Sehr guter Erhaltungszustand.Elias Baeck (1679 - 1747 Augsburg). Deutscher Maler und Kupferstecher. Genannt Heldenmuth. Studium in Rom. Ab 1705 in Venedig tätig. Später längerer Aufenthalt in Laibach. Ließ sich später in Augsburg nieder. Rechts unten in der Platte signiert: Elias Baeck à H. sc. et exc. a.v. Titelkartusche oben links innerhalb der Darstellung, darüber Schriftband mit Bezeichnung. Entfernungsmaßstab unten rechts. Detaillierter Einblattdruck anlässlich der Einweihung des Vikariats-Hofgerichts der beiden Kurfürsten von Bayern und der Pfalz in Augsburg am 31. Januar und 1. Februar 1741 von dem Augsburger Maler und Kupferstecher Elias Baeck (1679-1747). In drei übereinander gelegten Registern wird der Auftakt der Einweihung am 31. Januar 1741 mit Beteiligung des Heroldts Dr. Mathias Friederich Waydtmann und dem Präsidenten Graf Truchsäß von Zeyll geschildert. In der mittleren Szene wird der Ablauf der Einweihungszeremonie mit Festzug und Regimentsparade am 1. Februar 1741 dargestellt. Die dritte Szene ist dem kurfürstlichen Einweihungspräsent gewidmet. Der Stecher und Herausgeber des Stiches, Elias Baeck, hatte unter anderem in Rom und Venedig studiert, bevor er sich nach 1705 in Augsburg niederließ. Er war spezialisiert auf Porträts und die Darstellung zeitgeschichtlicher Ereignisse, wie Bataillen, Krönungszüge oder die hier dargestellte feierliche Eröffnungszeremonie des Augsburger Hofgerichts. Das zeitgesem Ereignis wird auch durch ausführliche Presseberichte deutlich. Ähnlich des umfassenden Berichts in der 1702 gegründeten Zeitschrift Die neue europäische Fama, welche den gegenwärtigen Zustand der vornehmsten Höfe entdecket" (Heft 68, 1741, S. 643-650 [Digitalisat der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek]), beschreibt auch Elias Baeck durch seine feine Stichtechnik und den erklärenden Begleittext das zeitgenössische Ereignis in.
