VG contents, printed on high-quality rag and glossy paper with tissue guards over color plates. Very bottoms of a few rag page edges are darkened; covers good+ and clean but with bumps to spine head/tail and to corners.

Light bumping to the upper tips, just a touch of very mild darkening along the front hinge. Tall quarto, beautiful color frontispiece. Top-edge gilt, deckled fore and bottom-edges.

This, the Subscriber's edition, is limited to 250 copies, of which this is hand-numbered 71, and is printed on handmade parchment paper (thick high quality). Includes the printed announcement "Her Majesty the Queen has been graciously pleased to accept the first numbered copy of this work" laid-in at the front of the book. Ex-libris bookplate of Alderman John Brown unobtrusively on front pastedown, and a few ownership blindstamps in margins of text. Brown is listed in the list of original subscribers at end of text. Includes bibliographic notes. Text block is separated at several places, detaching several pages of text from binding. Pages remain in excellent condition, but considerable care in handling is required to maintain the present condition. An attractive copy of this scarce edition. Size: Folio. Book.
