Pencil markings to front free endpaper. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Unclipped jacket. Panels and spine have light edgewear with tears and creases. Moderate tanning to flaps, panels and spine. Jacket is in removable plastic cover.

The full page review on the f.e.p. is signed by Manwaring in an abbreviated form. ".apart from 'Cat', it is extremely cerebral and indefinite. Is this what Cecil Day Lewis means by the depth of imagination and interest he implies I haven't got?" 40pp. Top-edge lightly spotted, V.g. in dustwrapper slightly worn along top edge with a few small tears/nicks on front panel, and missing chip from rear panel.
