Most of the plates are engravings of dogs, hare, otters, etc. and some are folding. Pages browned. Bound in full dark green calf gilt, spine sunned with rubbing to extremities. Marbled endpapers. Armorial bookplate. A sound copy.

Very rare set of books published as the Epworth Herald Library ; an apparent Methodist related publishing organization with all books originally copyrighted and originally published by Hitchcock & Walden with copyright dates from 1873 to 1881; a first edition thus uniform set with an attractive dulled blue grey cloth binding with orange lettering slightly dulled on front and spine ; some corners slightly bumped pages are crisp as hardly turned but browned as normal with age; no internal markings and bindings are tight ;there's very slight puckering to cover on john wesley o.w. a very good plus and very rare set of uniform books that were most likely published in 1881 additional images available upon request.

Complete with 2 Fold-Out Tables with Data for Fishermen and a Fold out Plate with Pikes Jawbone and various Flies. Pages in very nice, clean condition, Very little foxing and what there is is light. Elegant original calf leather binding, 6 bars to spine. Bright gilt borders with decorative corners to front, Gilt "Ruler" design on edges and bright gilt Lettering and Decorative motif to spine. Some wear to edges, overall a very nice copy for its age. I'm happy to send more photo's or information if desired. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
