Original red cloth, titles stamped in gold gilt on the front cover and spine, maps on front and rear end-papers, frontispiece, [18], 339 [5] pp., foreword, illustrated, map, Biographies of Young County, bibliography, index. Contains a chapter on Cattle Industry of the County, which discusses cowmen of the county, first brands, big ranches, Loving-Goodnight Trail, free grass, cattle stealing, Texas Cattle Raisers Association, and Honoring the Old Oak. Six Guns 517 says "Scarce." ". the author gives a brief history of the Marlowe brothers." Also chapters on County trials, minerals, Fort Belknap, Indians and Indian depredations, etc. This book is very scarce in the first edition. A fine, bright, clean copy of an elusive title.
